Power brush grooming artificial turf on a rooftop five-a-side pitch

Artificial-turf cleaning

Artificial turf looks tough, but dust, stains and scattered infill granules change how it performs and looks. We clean it so the fibres stand back up and the surface is ready to use.

About the service

Dust buries the infill deep inside the fibres

Artificial turf is made of plastic fibres anchored to a perforated backing, with sand or rubber infill granules between the fibres giving the surface its cushion. The fine dust builds up between the fibres with every use, pressing the infill out of place, flattening the fibres instead of letting them stand, and creating hard patches that raise the risk of slipping.

Tell us the area of your turf, the location of your facility and which district you are in, and mention any stains or specific areas that concern you. We agree a time with you and handle the cleaning through to redistributing the infill correctly.

  • Stains and debris
  • Pitch markings

What does artificial-turf cleaning cover?

These are the parts the work goes through on an artificial-turf surface, depending on the condition of the turf and what the person in charge notices.

  • The synthetic fibres

We remove the dust and debris packed between the fibres, which is what causes them to flatten over time instead of staying upright as they were designed to do.

  • The infill granules

We redistribute the rubber or quartz sand granules after cleaning, because uneven infill creates hard patches across the surface and that is what affects pitch performance most.

  • Stains and residue

We treat sweat marks and organic residue that settle on the fibres, which in the summer heat turn into a sticky layer that holds even more dust.

  • The perforated backing

We check that the drainage holes in the turf backing are not blocked, because a blocked backing traps moisture under the surface and speeds up fibre deterioration.

  • The pitch markings

We clean the areas around the white or coloured line markings fixed on the turf, as dust builds up along their edges and reduces how clearly they show on the playing surface.

  • Edges and fixings

We check the turf edges at the fixing or bonding points, as dust accumulates there first and an edge can loosen without being noticed during normal use.

How do we start?

Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.

  1. Call or message us on WhatsApp

Tell us the service you need and your district.

  2. Tell us the details

Tell us the area of turf, the type of facility and your district, and whether there are specific stains, hard patches or markings that need particular attention.

  3. We agree a time

We settle on a time that fits your facility's schedule, and you clear the surface of sports equipment and any items before work begins.

  4. We carry out the cleaning

We clean the fibres, treat stains and redistribute the infill, then check the surface with you afterwards to confirm the fibres stand up and the infill is even across all areas.

Why Al Baraa Clean

A service that comes to your door

  • We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.

The whole home from one company

One worry is that cleaning may damage the fibres or displace the infill unevenly. Artificial turf is handled differently from other surfaces, and redistributing the infill is a step that cannot be skipped. Tell us what you notice and leave the rest to us.

Questions about Artificial-turf cleaning

How do I know the artificial turf needs a deep clean?

Clear signs include fibres that look compressed and do not spring back after use, a surface that looks pale because of a dust layer, and hard patches underfoot that were not there before. A persistent smell of sweat is also a sign that organic residue has built up between the fibres.

Does the turf need to dry before it can be used again?

Yes, the surface needs time to dry before use, because residual moisture in the fibres allows the infill to shift easily underfoot and reduces surface stability. We agree a time with you that leaves the surface enough time before the next session or training.

What affects the price of artificial-turf cleaning?

The cost depends on the area of turf, its condition, how much dust and residue has built up, and whether there are areas needing intensive stain treatment or infill redistribution across many sections. Describe the state of the turf when you call and we agree on what suits you.

Do I need to stop all activity on the pitch during cleaning?

Yes, the surface must be clear of users and equipment during the work, because cleaning includes treating the fibres and redistributing the infill, which leaves the surface temporarily unstable. We agree a time between sessions or on a day when the pitch is not in use.

What should I check after the artificial-turf cleaning is done?

Check that the fibres stand upright across different areas of the surface, especially at the markings and in the most used zones, and confirm the infill is even without hard patches or obvious gaps. Also check the turf edges at the fixing points to make sure none have loosened, and let us know straight away if you notice anything before use resumes.
