A majlis takes a lot, and the signs show with time
The majlis is the most-used room in a Saudi home. It receives visitors, gathers the family and holds occasions. Thick fabrics, wall surfaces and the carpet covering the floor all trap fine dust and faint grease that build up silently between visits. The dust by nature finds its way through door edges and window frames and settles deep into the weave of every piece in the room.
Majlis cleaning is different from cleaning the rest of the house because there are many pieces placed close together, and many of their surfaces are fabric, wood, decorated glass or plaster. A common mistake is sweeping the floor and wiping the coffee table and stopping there, while the real dirt stays in fabric folds, the backs of cushions and the lower parts of the walls. Many customers ask for majlis washing after a season of visits, and the difference shows clearly in the colour of the carpet and the smell of the fabrics.
Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district and describe the state of the majlis and what you have noticed, and we agree a suitable time. You are welcome to ask for majlis and sofa cleaning together when you call, and we work out the details based on what you describe.

- Upholstery and fabrics
- Walls and ceilings
What does majlis cleaning cover?
These are the parts a majlis cleaning typically covers in a residential setting, and the details vary with the size, condition and type of furnishings in your majlis.
- Carpets and rugs
Carpet traps dust and sand deep in its fibres, far below what shows on the surface. It is treated according to its type and how long it has been in use, because each weave needs a different approach.
- Seating and cushion backs
Dirt gathers in fabric folds and behind cushions that are rarely turned over. Those folds hold the smell and make a majlis look old even when its surface has been wiped.
- Walls and low skirting
The lower section of the walls picks up marks from hands and leaning. It is wiped carefully because smooth plaster or paint is affected by hard scrubbing.
- Ceilings, lights and decorative mouldings
Dust settles on light fittings, plaster decorations and cornice edges. Cleaning them brings back the original white and opens the room to the eye.
- Windows and lattice panels
Interior glass and wooden or plaster lattice panels hold a layer of dust in the edges of their fine divisions. They are cleaned from both sides with a tool that fits the size of the openings.
- Tables and shelves
Hard surfaces of wood, glass or marble are wiped and polished according to each material, because marble is sensitive to acid and wood is sensitive to excess moisture.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us about your majlis
Tell us the size of the majlis, the type of floor and furnishings, what you have noticed whether dust, a smell or stains, and which district you are in.
We agree a time and you prepare
We settle on a time that suits you, and you help by removing small breakable items and making all parts of the majlis accessible.
The work and what to check after
We go through all the agreed parts and finish with a general wipe-down. Afterwards, check the folds and corners and smell the fabrics to confirm the odour has gone.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- Majlis and home togetherWe also handle house cleaning, apartment cleaning, villa cleaning, deep cleaning, post-construction cleaning and move-in cleaning alongside majlis cleaning.
- Describe it in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to describe the state of your majlis and what you need.
One worry is that cleaning might damage the fabrics or change the colour of the carpet. Furnishings are not all treated the same way: fine weave is different from wool, and marble is different from wood. We ask you when you call about what is in your majlis and agree on the right approach for each surface before we start.

Questions about Majlis cleaning
How do I know my majlis needs a proper clean and not just a sweep?
If you notice a smell in the fabrics after opening the windows, see a colour change along the carpet edges near the walls, or find clear marks from leaning on the lower part of the walls, these are signs of real build-up. Sweeping and surface wiping remove only what is visible, while fine dust and faint grease need cleaning that reaches into fabric folds and corners.
What should I do to get the majlis ready before the cleaning?
Move small breakable items such as vases and decorations off tables and shelves, and leave space to move between parts of the majlis. If you have a separate rug that can be folded, mention it when you call so we can agree on how to handle it.
What should I check when the cleaning is done?
Check the folds of the seating and the backs of cushions, and smell the fabrics to confirm the odour has gone. Look at the carpet edges and the lower wall corners where dust tends to gather most. If you find something that needs attention, tell us before we leave.
What changes the scope of the job and affects the details of the appointment?
The size of the majlis and the number of seats in it, the type of floor whether fixed carpet, tile or marble, the presence of lattice panels or decorated plaster ceilings, and the condition of the room and how long since it was last cleaned all affect the scope. We ask you about these when you call so we can agree on what fits your situation.
Is majlis cleaning after a gathering different from regular cleaning?
After a large gathering or a season of visits, dirt concentrates in specific places such as fabric folds, coffee and tea marks on the carpet and hand marks on the walls. Cleaning in that case focuses on those areas and is different from regular cleaning that removes gradual general dust. Tell us when you call about the situation and the reason, and we agree on what fits.
Can I sit in the majlis or touch the fabrics straight after cleaning?
Some surfaces need time to dry, especially fabrics from which dust and dirt are removed with moisture. Drying time varies with the type of fabric, the ventilation in the majlis and the temperature. We will tell you at the end of the work so you do not sit on a surface that has not dried yet.
Does majlis washing in a home differ from a majlis in a commercial building?
Yes, a home majlis usually contains personal fabrics and furnishings that need more careful handling, while a majlis in a commercial building may be much larger and have more uniform materials. In both cases we ask you when you call about the type of space, its size and what is in it, and we agree on the details.
