The burning sting starts beneath the soil
Fire ants nest differently from other ant types: the colony lives underground while the mound rises slowly above the surface, often hidden among grass or against a wall base. What sets them apart is a burning sting that leaves a painful red mark. Because they only attack when their mound is disturbed, many people do not know they are there until the first sting.
We start by hearing what you have noticed and where the ants appear, then we inspect the soil, the mounds and the trails across the garden and yard and treat the nesting sites. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district and where you have seen them, and we agree a time.

What does fire-ant control cover?
These are the areas and steps the work goes through, depending on how established the nesting is and the size of the affected area.
- Soil mound inspection
We locate each mound and assess its spread, because the visible mound shows only part of the actual colony living beneath the surface.
- Trail tracking
Fire ants move in regular trails between the nest and food sources, and we follow these trails to find the main nest and its entrances.
- Nesting site treatment
We treat the mound sites directly to reach the colony, because treating only the surface without reaching depth leaves part of the colony untouched.
- Garden and yard perimeter
We check planted areas, wall edges and ground openings, as fire ant colonies spread among plant pots and near moisture patches in the dry soil.
- Building entry points
We check cracks at wall bases and gaps around pipes entering the building, since these are the routes fire ants use to move from the soil indoors.
- Post-treatment check
We guide you on what to watch in the days that follow, because ant activity can shift before the colony gradually settles down.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us what you notice
Describe where the ants appear: whether in the garden, the yard or inside, whether you have seen mounds in the soil, and which district the property is in.
We agree a time
We settle on a time that suits you, and it helps to keep children and pets away from the affected areas just before and right after the visit.
We start the work
We inspect the full area and treat the mounds, trails and entry points, then explain what we found and what to watch for in the days that follow.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- Other ant types with the same teamWe also handle black-ant control, flying-ant control and termite control at the same property.
- Just describe what you seeCall or send a WhatsApp message and tell us what you are seeing, and we agree on everything else.
One worry is that fire ants in the garden can reach inside the building through cracks at the base of walls. That is a real possibility, especially in older properties, which is why the work covers ground entry points and wall bases, not only the garden. Describe what you notice and leave the assessment to us.

Questions about Fire-ant control
An ant in the garden stung me and left a blister, could it be a fire ant?
A burning sting that turns into a small white blister is the mark of a fire ant. Unlike other types, fire ants do not bite but sting with a stinger at their rear. If you find a soil mound near where you were stung, the area is worth inspecting.
The mounds in my garden are small, do they need treating?
The size of the mound above ground does not reflect the size of the colony in the soil. A mound that looks small can spread widely underground, and the longer it is left the wider it extends through garden soil. The practical step is to describe what you see and let us assess it.
What should I prepare before the fire-ant control visit?
Keep children and pets away from the affected garden and yard areas. If there are plant pots, move them somewhere easy to reach. Let us know in advance if there are sensitive surfaces in the garden such as decorative stone or artificial grass so we can account for them.
I saw fire ants coming in through the base of an outside wall, does the treatment cover indoors too?
Yes, if ants have come in through wall-base cracks or around pipes we inspect the entry points from inside too. Tell us when you call where you have seen them, whether outside or in, and we agree the right scope of work with you.
After treating the fire-ant mounds I saw more ants for a while, is that normal?
A temporary increase in visible activity after treatment can happen, as disturbed colony members move around before things settle. What is worth noting is whether new mounds keep appearing in the same spots after a reasonable period has passed, in which case a re-inspection makes sense.
