Snake control

Spotted a snake in the yard or near the house? Snakes follow regular routes, not random paths. We inspect the area and help you secure it.

About the service

One snake means an open route

The snake you see in the yard or near the door did not arrive by chance. Snakes follow the scent of prey such as rodents and frogs, and they enter through gaps in walls, foundations or under doors. In they become more active in the warmer months, moving out in search of heat and food, and many are not noticed until someone comes close.

Call or message us on WhatsApp, describe what you saw and tell us your district, and we agree a time to inspect the area and secure it.

  • Yard and entry points
  • Wall gaps and crevices
  • Storage areas and corners

What does snake inspection and control cover?

These are the areas and steps the work goes through, depending on the layout of the property and what has been seen.

  • Yard and immediate surroundings

We inspect the yard and the ground around the building for signs of snake activity such as shed skin or tracks, since the surrounding area is the first thing a snake crosses before reaching the structure.

  • Foundation and wall gaps

We check cracks, pipe openings and gaps in the foundations, as snakes can enter through an opening no wider than a finger.

  • Storage rooms and dark corners

Snakes favour cool, dark places such as storage rooms and covered yard corners. These spots are checked carefully because they hide the most.

  • Door and window thresholds

We check the gaps under external doors and openings in yard-facing windows, which are common entry points for snakes getting into the building.

  • Nearby attractants

We identify what draws snakes to the area, such as a rodent presence, frogs or dense vegetation, and explain how to reduce those attractants.

  • Sealing exposed entry points

After the inspection we identify the entry points that need sealing or securing, because closing the route is more effective than any other measure on its own.

How do we start?

Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.

  1. Call or message us on WhatsApp

Tell us the service you need and your district.

  2. Describe what you saw

Tell us where the snake was, whether in the yard or inside, what it looked like and which district you are in, so we can gauge what the work involves.

  3. We agree a time

We settle on a time that suits you, and you keep the outer door closed and keep children and pets away from the yard until the inspection begins.

  4. We inspect and secure

We go through the surroundings, entry points and hiding spots, then explain what we found and which openings need securing. You check that the yard is safe before going back to using it normally.

Questions about Snake control

How do I know what I saw was a snake and not another reptile?

A snake moves without limbs and has a continuous elongated body, unlike a dhab or a monitor lizard which has visible legs. If you are unsure, keep your distance, describe what you saw and we will help you decide whether this needs snake control specifically or our reptile control service.

I found shed skin in the yard. Does that mean the snake is still there?

Shed skin is evidence that a snake was in the area recently, but it does not confirm the snake is still there. Snakes shed at regular intervals and leave their skin along the routes they travel. An inspection is the only way to tell whether the route is still active.

What should I prepare before you come to inspect?

Keep children and pets away from the yard, the storage area and anywhere the snake was seen. Do not move piles of stones or timber before the inspection, as they may cover useful signs, and tell us in advance if any part of the yard is normally kept locked.

What do I check after the inspection is done?

Check that the entry points identified as needing sealing have been closed. Look over the yard in the following days for fresh shed skin or marks in loose ground, as these are signs worth reporting. If a snake appears again, message us with a description of where it was seen.

Does one sighting mean the whole property needs inspecting?

Not necessarily. The inspection focuses on the outer surroundings, the yard and the entry points first, then extends inside if there is evidence that a snake has crossed in. One sighting is enough reason to check that the entry points are secure, especially if the property is near open ground, a garden or signs of rodent activity.
