The filter runs quietly until it stops without warning
A pool filter traps what the eye cannot see: fine sand particles, body oils, dead algae and suspended debris. Where dust is in the air throughout the year and summer heat is intense, these particles build up inside the filter medium until pressure on the gauge climbs, flow to the returns weakens and the water turns cloudy again shortly after treatment. Many owners add more chlorine thinking the water is the problem, when the real cause is a filter that has not been serviced for a long time.
Call or WhatsApp us and tell us what you have noticed, your district and the type of filter if you know it, and we agree a time that suits you.

What does pool filter maintenance cover?
These are the parts the maintenance goes through, depending on the filter type, its condition and what you notice in your pool.
- Pressure gauge check
We read the gauge before and after the work; a high reading reveals a blocked medium, while a sudden drop can point to a seal leaking inside the vessel.
- Backwash of sand filter
We reverse the water flow through the sand bed to flush trapped debris out of the system, which is the main step to restore normal flow in a sand filter.
- Filter sand inside the vessel
Over time sand grains clump and lose their ability to hold particles. We inspect the medium and agree with you on replacing it if it has lost effectiveness or been in use for a long time.
- Cartridge and its pleats
We remove the cartridge and rinse its pleats to clear oils and trapped particles, because blocked pleats stop water passing through and raise the pressure noticeably.
- Multiport valve
We check that the valve moves cleanly between positions and that the internal seal is intact, because a leaking valve sends debris back into the pool instead of out.
- Inlet and return lines
We inspect the lines feeding water into the filter and returning it to the pool for any leaks or partial blockages that affect the pressure across the whole system.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us what you notice
Tell us whether the gauge pressure is high, the return flow is weak, or the water stays cloudy despite treatment, which district you are in, and the filter type if you know it.
We agree a time and you prepare
We settle on a time that suits you, and you make sure the filter room or unit is accessible, with a water source and a drain point near the unit for the backwash.
The work and the check together
We carry out the maintenance, then run the system with you and verify the pressure reading and the return flow into the pool before we leave so you can see the result.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- Pool and tank services with one teamWe also handle pool disinfection, pool water treatment, inflatable pool cleaning, water tank cleaning, water tank disinfection and water tank insulation.
- Describe it in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to explain what you notice in the filter or the pool, and we agree the rest.
One worry is that filter maintenance will mean emptying the pool completely. In most cases that is not necessary, as the main servicing steps are carried out with the pool full. The details of what your filter needs are agreed when you call, and you leave the rest to us.

Questions about Pool filter maintenance
How do I know my pool filter needs servicing?
The clearest sign is a pressure gauge reading above its normal range, with weak flow from the return jets. You may also notice cloudy water shortly after treatment even when the chlorine level is adequate, which shows the filter is no longer holding particles the way it should.
What is the difference between a sand filter and a cartridge filter, and does the maintenance differ?
A sand filter uses a bed of sand grains to trap debris and its maintenance starts with a backwash. A cartridge filter uses a folded plastic medium that is taken out and rinsed by hand. We ask for the filter type when you call so we prepare the right approach.
Should I stop the pool pump before you arrive?
There is no need to stop it before we arrive. We start by reading the pressure while the system is running, because that gives an accurate picture of the filter condition. Steps that need the pump off are done in sequence during the job and we tell you as we go.
What affects the cost of pool filter maintenance?
The price depends on the filter type, size and condition, and whether the filter medium needs replacing or servicing alone is enough. We agree the price with you after you describe what you notice when you call.
What should I check in the pool after the filter maintenance is done?
Watch the pressure gauge the following day to confirm it stays within its normal range, and check that the flow from the return jets has come back strong. Clear water after enough filtration cycles is the clearest practical sign that the filter is working as it should.
