Ice and vapour build up where you cannot see
A freezer runs at low temperatures continuously, and every time you open it warm air enters, condenses and freezes onto the interior walls and corners. Over time ice layers build up behind shelves and in the back corners, food smells absorb into the plastic lining and the rubber door seal, and fatty residue settles in the drawers and on the divider between compartments.
Tell us about your freezer when you call or message on WhatsApp: whether the ice is heavy, whether there is a smell or visible marks, and which district you are in. We agree a time and take it from there.

What does freezer cleaning cover?
These are the parts the work covers in the freezer, depending on its condition and what you describe when you call.
- Interior walls and ceiling
Built-up ice layers are removed from the walls and ceiling, then the plastic surfaces are wiped to clear fatty residue and odour traces.
- Shelves and racks
Shelves and racks are removed and washed separately, as food residue freezes between their bars and is difficult to clear without taking them out.
- Drawers and divider
Drawers are pulled out and the divider between compartments is cleaned, as both are among the areas where grease and frozen residue collect most.
- Door rubber seal
The rubber seal around the door is wiped carefully, as condensation gathers in its folds and gradually weakens the door's airtight fit.
- Freezer base and sides
The interior base and sides are cleaned of frozen liquid residue, areas that are often missed because they sit behind or below the shelves.
- Rear exterior
The rear and the compressor area are cleared of accumulated dust, as dust settles on the back grille and raises the appliance's running temperature.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us about the freezer
Tell us whether the ice is heavy, whether there is a smell or visible marks, whether the freezer is standalone or combined with the fridge, and which district you are in.
We agree a time
We settle on a time that suits you, and before we arrive you empty the freezer of food and switch it off long enough for thick ice to thaw.
We start the work
We clean the walls, shelves, drawers, seal and rear, then leave you to check the corners and sides before you put the food back in.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- Your kitchen appliances with one teamWe also clean fridges, washing machines and microwaves, and handle full kitchen cleaning too.
- Describe your freezer in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to explain what you notice, and we agree a time.
One worry is that the freezer is switched back on before its interior surfaces are properly dry. We leave the interior to dry before the door is closed, and you check the sides and corners before putting food back in.

Questions about Freezer cleaning
How do I know my freezer needs cleaning and not just defrosting?
Defrosting removes the frozen layer only. If a smell remains after defrosting, or there is greasy residue on the walls and drawers, or the door seal has dirt in its folds, the freezer needs a full clean and not just defrosting.
Do I need to empty the freezer completely before you come?
Yes, it is best to empty it of food before the appointment and switch it off, as the work covers removing shelves and drawers and cleaning all the interior walls. Tell us when you call and we will agree a time that gives you room to do that.
Why does the freezer smell linger even after I defrost it and wipe inside?
The smell absorbs into the interior plastic and into the folds of the rubber door seal, which are surfaces that need detailed cleaning reaching the corners and behind removed shelves, different from a quick wipe with a cloth.
Is cleaning a standalone freezer different from cleaning a fridge-freezer compartment?
A standalone freezer is usually larger and deeper, often with multiple drawers and a divider, and ice builds up more heavily in it. Tell us the type when you call so we can prepare accordingly.
What should I check after the freezer cleaning is done?
Check the interior sides and back corners to make sure there is no visible residue, and press the door closed to check that the rubber seal sits snugly all round. Then wait until the freezer reaches its working temperature before putting food back in.
