The smell starts inside the drum
A washing machine runs in constant moisture, and that moisture combined with leftover detergent and fabric fibres builds a dark layer inside the door seal, around the drum and in the detergent drawer. That layer is the source of the smell that transfers to laundry even after repeated wash cycles.

What does washing-machine cleaning cover?
These are the parts the cleaning covers, and the way each is handled depends on the type of machine and its condition.
- Detergent and softener drawer
The drawer is pulled out and washed clear of detergent residue and mould that builds up on its sides and in its narrow channels, because blocked channels stop the detergent reaching the drum properly.
- Door seal
The rubber door seal on a front-loader traps water and fibres after every cycle, and its inner folds are where mould and dark grime often collect; they are cleaned with care.
- Drum wall and gasket
Calcium deposits and detergent residue collect on the stainless-steel drum wall and the gasket edge, and the drum interior is wiped down to remove that chalky layer.
- Drain pump filter
Most front-loaders have a filter at the base that catches fibres and small objects; when it fills it slows or stops draining, and it is opened and cleared during the service.
- Outer casing and door
The outer casing and door are wiped of dust and marks, including the door glass on the inside, which hard-water deposits can coat over time.
- Base and sides
The sides and base are wiped of the dust that gathers around the machine, which regular cleaning usually misses and which can scratch the floor underneath.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us about your machine
Tell us whether the machine loads from the front or the top, what you are noticing such as a smell, marks in the drawer or slow draining, and which district you are in.
We agree a time and you prepare
We settle on a time that suits you. Before we arrive, empty the drum of any laundry, leave the machine connected to power and water, and clear the area around it.
We work and you check
We clean the drawer, seal, drum, filter and sides. When we finish, run a short rinse cycle and leave the door open afterwards so the inside dries out.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- Clean your other appliances at the same timeWe clean washing machines, fridges, freezers and microwaves, and handle kitchen and bathroom cleaning too.
- Describe it in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to describe your machine and agree a time.
A common worry is that opening the drain filter or pulling the drawer out might cause water to leak. These parts are designed to be opened and closed, and we handle them in the right order. Leave that to us.

Questions about Washing-machine cleaning
Where does the washing-machine smell come from and how do I know it needs cleaning?
The smell usually starts from the door seal and the detergent drawer, both of which trap moisture and detergent residue after every cycle. If you notice a musty smell when you open the door, or dark marks in the folds of the seal or on the drawer walls, the machine needs cleaning.
Do I need to turn the water supply off before the cleaning?
No, leave it connected to water and power as it is. The parts we open, such as the drain filter, are emptied in a specific way that prevents spills, and we will tell you if anything needs action from you.
Is a top-loader cleaned the same way as a front-loader?
Not exactly. A front-loader has a rubber door seal and a drain filter at the base, neither of which a top-loader has. A top-loader instead needs attention to the upper drum edges and the inner lid. That is why we ask for the type when you call.
Does dust and heat affect how dirt builds up inside the machine?
Yes. The fine dust that enters with clothes builds up with detergent residue on the drum wall. High outdoor temperatures raise the temperature in the laundry area, which speeds up mould growth in the damp parts such as the door seal.
Does the price change depending on the type or size of the machine?
The price depends on the type of machine, its condition and how much build-up there is. Tell us the type and what you have noticed when you call or message on WhatsApp, and we agree the price before work begins.
