Epoxy loses its shine from within
An epoxy floor is a resin layer poured over a concrete or cement base, and it is known for its smooth, high-gloss surface. But daily foot traffic, furniture legs and the fine dust that enters every time a door opens leave tiny scratches that scatter light, so the floor looks hazy rather than glossy.
Tell us your district and describe the floor as you see it, whether it is simply dull, has scratches, or shows hard-water or lime deposits. Call or message us on WhatsApp and we agree a suitable time.
- Epoxy coat
- Scratches and stains
- Polishing and buffing
What does epoxy floor polishing cover?
These are the parts and stages the work goes through, depending on the condition of the coat and what you notice on the surface.
- Surface assessment
Before starting, we assess the surface to judge how deep the scratches are and what the stains are, because thick epoxy is treated differently from a thin coat.
- Stain and deposit removal
Hard-water marks and the mineral deposits common settle on the epoxy and mask its gloss, so we remove them before polishing to avoid surface distortion.
- Top coat polishing
We polish the epoxy coat in graduated stages to remove the fine lines that scatter light, so the surface becomes smooth and reflects light evenly again.
- Visible scratch treatment
Scratches that reach the resin layer are treated to smooth their edges and even out the surface as much as possible, with the depth of the scratch determining how much the polishing can achieve.
- Surface buffing and gloss
After polishing, we buff the surface to bring it to the right level of gloss for the type of epoxy, whether fully glossy or semi-matte.
- Final clean and what to check
We clean the surface clear of residue, then check the floor under the light with you so you can see that the gloss is even and the lines are gone.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Describe the floor
Tell us what you see: whether the floor is simply dull, has scratches, or has lime deposits, which district you are in, and roughly how large the area is.
Agree the time and prepare
We settle on a time that suits you. Clear heavy furniture from the area as much as you can, and let us know if there are fixed pieces that cannot be moved.
The work and the check
We polish and buff the floor, then check it under full lighting with you when done to confirm the gloss is even and no lines or residue remain.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- All your floors with one teamWe polish and clean parquet, porcelain, mosaic, courtyard tile, marble and wood floors too.
- Describe it in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to tell us what you see on your epoxy floor.
One worry is that polishing might change the gloss level of the epoxy or weaken the coat. We assess the surface first and agree with you on what will be done before we start, so nothing happens that was not discussed.

Questions about Epoxy floor polishing
How do I know my epoxy floor needs polishing rather than a normal clean?
If the floor still looks hazy or dull after a normal clean, or you can see fine lines in daylight, the cause is usually surface scratches in the resin coat that mopping cannot remove. Cleaning removes dirt; polishing treats the surface itself and levels it.
Do all scratches on an epoxy floor disappear with polishing?
Fine surface scratches that stay within the top coat respond well to polishing and become much less visible. Deep scratches that go through the resin into the base cannot be fully hidden by polishing, though they are reduced. The depth of the scratch determines what is achievable, and that is what we assess at the start.
What affects the scope of the work and the price estimate for epoxy polishing?
The floor area, the surface condition in terms of scratch depth and stain density, the type of epoxy and its thickness are the main factors. Fixed furniture or tight spaces also affect the scope. That is why we ask for these details when you call before giving any estimate.
Do I need to keep the room empty for a while after epoxy polishing?
After polishing and buffing, it is advisable to keep the surface clear of foot traffic and furniture for a period that depends on the materials used and the surface condition. We will tell you before we leave. Not rushing to bring furniture back protects the new gloss.
Does the summer heat affect an epoxy floor?
Epoxy is generally heat-tolerant, but the very high temperatures of summer, combined with the repeated expansion and contraction around building entrances, speed up the appearance of fine lines on the surface. Fine dust carried in on hot air also forms a fine abrasive layer underfoot that gradually marks the top coat.
