Scratches do not vanish with wiping alone
Parquet is made of wood boards or compressed wood fibre covered by a varnish layer that protects the surface and gives it its shine. What looks like a dull patch or a light scratch is usually wear in that outer layer, not in the wood itself. The fine dust that enters through windows acts like very light sandpaper on the finish with every step taken across it.
We start by hearing what you notice about your floor, its size and its condition, then we agree a time with you. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district, and we hand the floor back to you looking refreshed.

What does parquet polishing cover?
These are the parts and stages the work goes through on a parquet floor, depending on the condition of the surface and what you notice in it.
- Surface cleaning first
Dirt and built-up dust are removed from the surface before any other step, because any hard particle under the polishing pad can add a new scratch.
- The old varnish layer
The outer layer is checked to see how worn it is; if it is thin or cracked the surface is treated as needed before polishing begins.
- Fine scratches
Light scratches in the varnish layer are treated by polishing without touching the wood beneath, which is what sets polishing apart from a full sand-down.
- Boards and their edges
The gaps between boards and their edges are cleaned, because dust and residue collect there and show clearly once the main surface has been polished.
- Polishing and shine
Polishing is applied in a regular motion across the whole surface to spread the shine evenly, so there are no bright patches next to dull ones.
- Final check with you
When the work is done we go over the surface with you in good light to check that the visible scratches are gone and the shine sits evenly across the whole floor.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us about your floor
Tell us what you notice: scratches, dullness, stains or flaking, and give us the approximate size of the floor and your district.
We agree a time and you prepare
We settle on a time that suits you, and you move light furniture and rugs off the parquet floor before we arrive.
We work, then you check
We clean the surface, treat the scratches and polish the whole floor, then walk over it with you in good light to confirm the shine is even.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- All your floors with one teamWe also handle porcelain polishing, mosaic polishing, wood floor polishing, epoxy floor polishing and courtyard tile polishing.
- Describe it in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to tell us what you see on your parquet floor.
One worry is that polishing will change the colour of the parquet or leave marks along the edges. Parquet polishing works on the outer varnish layer without touching the wood colour underneath. Tell us what you notice on your floor and leave the assessment to us.

Questions about Parquet polishing
How do I know my parquet needs polishing and not just cleaning?
If the surface stays dull after normal wiping, or fine scratches have appeared in high-traffic areas such as doorways or in front of seating, that points to wear in the varnish layer rather than the wood. Polishing is what treats the layer; wiping does not.
Does parquet polishing remove all scratches?
Polishing treats fine scratches in the varnish layer effectively. Deep scratches that have reached the wood of the boards themselves need a different treatment. When you call, describe the depth and location of the scratch and we agree on what suits your floor's condition.
Do I need to clear the whole room before polishing?
You do not need to clear it entirely, but light furniture, rugs and items placed on the floor should be moved off the parquet. For heavy pieces such as wardrobes and beds, we agree with you on how to handle the areas around them when you call.
Does the summer heat affect parquet floors?
Yes, intense heat and low humidity speed up the shrinking and expanding of boards, which weakens the varnish layer over time and can widen the gaps between boards. That is why parquet floors benefit from checking the surface at regular intervals to catch wear early.
What changes the scope of polishing work on parquet?
The total floor area, how worn the varnish layer is, the number and depth of scratches, and the access around heavy furniture all affect the scope of the work. Share these details when you call and we agree on what suits you.
