Your floor loses its shine for a reason tied to its material
A floor takes daily footfall, dust and water, and fine sand blows in with every bit of ventilation. That sand acts like very light sandpaper, scratching tile surfaces over time until white haze appears on ceramic and fine scratches show on parquet. Many homeowners assume tile cleaning with soap and water is enough, but surface scratching cannot be removed by washing alone; it needs polishing and re-finishing.
A second cause that often goes unnoticed is the grout between ceramic pieces. Dirt, mineral salts and cleaning product residue accumulate there, turning it grey or black when the tiles themselves are not at fault. Parquet and wood floors have their own problem: the protective lacquer layer dries out, leaving the surface open to abrasion. Whether you are asking about wood polishing, porcelain polishing or a full tile clean and polish, each material needs its own method and mixing them causes damage instead of repair.
To find the service you need, start by identifying your floor type in the list below. If you are not sure, tell us what you notice when you call and we will help you work it out. A call or a WhatsApp message naming your district and describing the floor's condition is all it takes, and we agree a time from there.
- Porcelain and ceramic
- Parquet and wood
- Mosaic and epoxy
Which floor do you need polished?
Each service in the list matches a specific floor type; choose the one that describes your floor to reach the details of the work you need.
- Courtyard tile polishingYour courtyard has tiles that have lost their shine or developed stubborn stains from long exposure to sun and rain.
- Parquet polishingYour parquet floor has gone dull and lost its sheen after years of daily use and foot traffic.
- Grout cleaningThe tiles themselves look clean but the grout lines between them have turned grey or black and plain water will not remove the staining.
- Porcelain polishingThe porcelain tiles in your living areas or entrance hall are scratched or have lost the gloss they had when they were laid.
- Mosaic polishingThe mosaic floor in your home has lost its original texture and lustre and looks neglected even after regular cleaning.
- Wood floor polishingYour solid or engineered wood floor has a dry protective layer and the surface scratches with ordinary daily use.
- Epoxy floor polishingThe epoxy coating in your garage or utility room has cracked, dulled or lost its even gloss.
How do we start?
Three simple steps, and we take care of the rest.
Call or message us on WhatsApp
Tell us the service you need and your district.
Tell us the floor type and its condition
Tell us the floor type, whether tile, parquet, wood or epoxy, describe what you see such as scratches, dullness or colour change, and tell us your district.
Agree a time and prepare
We settle on a time that suits you; clear the floor of furniture and rugs before we arrive so the whole surface is accessible.
We work and you check
We polish and buff the surface to suit the floor type, then you inspect it after it dries in good light to confirm the dullness and scratches are gone.
A service that comes to your door
- We come to youOur team arrives at your home with its equipment.
- One callCall or message us on WhatsApp and we arrange the rest.
- All floor and room services togetherWe clean kitchens, bathrooms, walls, glass and appliances, and we polish marble and all floor types, arranged to suit what you need.
- Describe your floor in your own wordsA call or a WhatsApp message is enough to describe what you see and we help you identify the right service.
One worry is that polishing might damage the floor or leave new scratches. That kind of damage happens when the wrong method is used on the wrong material; that is why we ask about the floor type before anything begins. Leave the assessment and the work to us.

Questions about Tile & floor polishing
How do I know my floor needs polishing rather than ordinary tile cleaning?
Ordinary cleaning removes surface dirt and marks, but dullness and fine scratches that remain after cleaning are in the surface itself, not on top of it. If the floor still looks flat after a thorough floor washing, or you can feel the scratches with a fingertip, it needs polishing, not cleaning.
What is the difference between polishing porcelain and polishing parquet?
Porcelain is a hard material polished by discs that abrade the surface at a controlled pressure to remove the scratched layer and restore the gloss. Parquet is compressed wood whose protective layer is renewed by sanding and buffing, and applying a porcelain method to it causes damage. The two jobs are fundamentally different.
Can outdoor courtyard tile be cleaned and polished the same way as indoor tile?
Courtyard tiles face intense summer sun and heat and seasonal rain, leaving mineral deposits and surface changes that indoor floors do not share. Old tile cleaning in a courtyard differs because of these deposits and the degree of surface roughening; the details are in the courtyard tile polishing service listed below.
What affects the price of polishing work?
The price depends on the floor type, its area, how deep the scratches or damage are, how easy it is to access, and whether it is clear of furniture. A deeply scratched floor needs more work than a simply dull one. You tell us all this when you call and we agree a price before starting.
My floor has more than one tile type, can you handle that?
Yes, some homes combine types across rooms, such as porcelain in living areas, ceramic in bathrooms and parquet in bedrooms. When you call or message, tell us each type and the rooms it covers and we agree on the right approach for each part.
How do I prepare the room before polishing work?
The most important step is clearing the floor of furniture, rugs and small items before the appointment, because working on a fully open surface is more thorough. If there are heavy pieces that are difficult to move, mention that when you call so we can plan around them.
Can I request parquet polishing and floor washing for other areas in the same booking?
Yes, many customers ask for parquet polishing in bedrooms alongside tile clean and polish or a general floor washing in the kitchen or bathroom in the same booking. You can combine any of the services listed below; tell us everything you want when you call and we agree the arrangement and a time.
